I am a couples therapist in Broomfield, Colorado. I absolutely love the work that I do, something that I will never take for granted. I’m happily divorced and without children or pets by choice. I am an avid reader of all things psychology, and I began an academic study of relationships 10 years ago after my divorce. I like plants, coffee, and making my own fruit and vegetable juices. Self-care is non-negotiable in my line of work and so I prioritize sleep, rest, walking, eating the right foods, meditation, self-reflection, social support, and living as simply as I possibly can. I spend weekends with my partner, James, who lives in Denver.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’m a couples therapist in Broomfield, Colorado. I work with couples from all walks of life and in all stages of life. I love witnessing the tremendous healing that can happen in primary romantic relationships. It’s gratifying to observe the evolution of relationships as couples work through their concerns and issues. The cycles we experience in our relationships with others is unique to each partnership and being able to mindfully and professionally support couples through their processes is why I love what I do.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I mostly cook! Although, as I am in the Denver area much of my time, I have three awesome eateries that I really enjoy – Smoke in Rino and Cart Driver Pizza in LoHi. Having spent more than two decades in New York City – it was fantastic to find a pizza place that really hit the spot for me! Another place I love is Reunion Bread & Pastry, yum! My schedule hasn’t allowed me a ton of time to try local places, but I plan to!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve lived and worked in Broomfield for five years. One of my favorite things about Broomfield is the location. It’s such a perfect space between Boulder and Denver. Easy access to everywhere. The people here are great!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I love the movie “A Monster Calls.” To me it captures the feeling of what it’s like to work through personal trauma.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
As a therapist I am very intentional about not giving people advice. It’s more important to me to support my clients in realizing their own truth and wisdom.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I have a small group of close friends who know how to listen. I would have lunch with them. Feeling seen, heard, and understood is the best feeling ever.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I think Broomfield is an interesting mix of suburban living and many types of businesses, big and small.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself as a couples therapist in Broomfield, still working the edges of my personal growth, still honing my craft as a couples therapist.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have a silly side to me. Not many people get to see it.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A good night’s sleep and feeling rested!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
The couples I work with inspire me to be better. It’s an amazing thing to witness people show up for each other, and especially amazing when showing up is hard.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
I think of emotional safety and security.
